Pause has concepted and designed numerous books for publishers over the years. When it comes to book design, our objective is always clear – to create a design that will inspire the reader to simply pick up our book among the sea of other books on the shelf. Once that happens, we know we've done our job.

New's book is a hilarious and historical look at how "irony", as a form of political commentary and critique, has played an important role in the dialogue between the offspring colonies and Mother England. To reflect this sense of humour, Pause concepted, illustrated and designed a jacket that took the quintessential English cup of tea and fouled it with tea bags from the colonies, complete with a common housefly and a discarded English teabag on the back cover.
